Welcome to

Founded in June 2007, Counter Productions is a community based performing arts organization with a commitment to cultivating and supporting our thriving community of theatre artists and audiences.  For many of us, the experience of theatre, be it as artist or audience member often leads to discoveries we may never have traveled to, whether that be in the realization of a new artistic concept or a story not yet heard.  Counter Productions' goal is to invest itself in Provincetown's own unique voice. 

To further our mission, Counter Productions has developed (in some cases for the first time in Provincetown history) a weekly series of educational programs in theatre.  Classes in ballet for youth and adults, musical theatre, scene study and technical theatre are the beginning of establishing an active company of local talent.  These classes, also provide a means of revenue for local professionals in performance,  and encourage year round residency in an otherwise seasonal community.

OUR STORY SO FAR...  In June 2007  we created a Counter Productions,  mounted two successful shows; the musical Bingo and the Pulitzer Prize winning play, I Am My Own Wife and have landed a winter home at the Provincetown Theatre!  In January we produced Doubt,  A Parable and one week later  hosted The Bitter Poet and Howlin' Vic with the company of  twenty performance artists from all over the state and beyond.  Kimberly Akimbo is our next production filled with community theatre artists.  It speaks volumes about the desire to see theatre flourish in our town.  Thank you to all who have donated time, talent and offers to help.
