DOUBT : A PARABLE JOHN PATRICK SHANLEY
“Kevin Hardy's set design is impeccable... But just as impeccable are the performances of the actors playing the staff there, especially Broadway actress Glynis Bell's Sister Aloysius, Tim Babcock's Father Flynn is passionate and empathetic; Dakota Shepard shines as the young, idealistic nun and Sallie Tighe gives a fierce performance as a black mother in the 1960s " Cape Cod Times
"Counter Productions’ first offering of its winter series, John Patrick Shanley’s “Doubt,” is a big dive into the deep end of the theatrical pool that earns high scores for taking on a complex play and giving it a dynamic and compelling production. Kudos to the four actors and to director Susan Grilli for bringing this tapestry of suspicion, accusation, moral ambiguity and lack of closure so deftly to the stage. This is a welcome piece of serious theater delivered by solid actors and tight direction. See it before it’s gone."

SOUVENIR: A FANTASIA ON THE LIFE OF FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS STEPHEN TEMPERLEY “Unusual 'Souvenir' a keeper... At its core, "Souvenir" hinges on expectations and perceptions.... CONT..
"How can something so wrong be so right? No, not a tawdry backstreet love story but an out-of-key musical, “Souvenir,” that manages to miss hitting almost every note and yet still entertains and ultimately asks a few gentle questions about the meaning of art. CONT..
OUR SUMMER REVIEWS
Tick, tick Boom a Booming Success
Counter's "tick ... tick ... BOOM" is impeccably acted and sung by Ethan Paulini as Jonathan; Adam Berry as best friend, Michael; and Denise Parks as girlfriend Susan. The band, led by Sanderson, is terrific. …missing this would be a real shame.

‘Tick Tick Boom’ explodes with energy
Counter Production’s staging of Jonathan Larson’s “Tick Tick Boom” is about as good as it gets.
Put this on your “to see” list. You won’t be sorry.

THE FULL MONTY 'Counter Productions’ “The Full Monty” being performed at The Provincetown Theater is laugh-‘til-you-cry material delivered with full bore energy and solid singing and performances. Musical direction by Casey Sanderson is tight. Joining his piano work is Susan Goldberg on bass, Mark Van Bork on drums and Dana Chapman on keyboards. The band is sequestered on stage inside a box made to look like the outside of a club. Director Susan Grilli can take credit for another fine production. She makes these guys real — we care about them and root for them even when it appears they will never succeed.' The Provincetown Banner
"FULL MONTY exposes audience to hilarity - The musical stage version of “The Full Monty” has such a wonderful script that it’s hard to imagine it wouldn’t be great fun in any setting, but the Provincetown Theater provides the added bonus of an enthusiastic and uninhibited audience to heat things up. The show starts with a Chippendale dancer stripping down to just a G-string and chaps. It’s a pretty savvy way to get audience members sitting up in their seats, and they do for Counter Productions’ version of the 1997 hit film.' Cape Cdd Times
COPENHAGEN “…Mesmerizing? Absolutely.
Especially in the wonderfully capable hands of director Gabriel Kuttner, who, in this Counter Productions show, does extraordinary double duty as Heisenburg. Jason Kymball's equally terrific Bohr in what becomes a natural, emotional, never-miss-a-beat conversation. Valerie Stanford, as Bohr's wife Margrethe, is a welcome and warm foil and referee. Copenhagen" is a play worth seeing absorbing, and this production is outstanding.”

“A TOUR DE FORCE”
Provincetown Banner
“For those who appreciate fine theatre and the tremendous effort actors put into their craft, there is no finer example of a modern piece of stagecraft… currently on stage anywhere on Cape Cod. This simply should not be missed. It is absolutely worth seeing. More than once.”
KIMBERLY AKIMBO "In the mood to get seriously giddy? ... laugh out loud vehicle that keeps the audience in stitches even when the chips are down... this cast has chemistry written all over it... makes the production a delight.. a real side splitter - a must see in this reviewers opinion. The fact is, when the show was over the audience wanted more, way more. - The Provincetown Banner. "Talented cast" Cape Cod Times
ANNA IN THE TROPICS NILO CRUZ
"Counter Productions has again created just the right look for a show, with the factory room setting created by Nathaniel McKean's tall light-wood walls and glassless window frames, with tropical period costumes of white suits, white shoes and filmy dresses. The cast does a laudable job with Cuban accents, coached by Angie Galiano. Director Susan Grilli conjures the anger and explosiveness of some characters in spades, especially from Justin Campbell, CONT..
When Nilo Cruz penned “Anna in the Tropics,” now playing at The Provincetown Theater, 238 Bradford St., he ignited a Pulitzer Prize-winning symbolic fire on stage that just keeps building until a final burst of flames flares in a powerful dance of will. Provincetown Banner
