SOUVENIR CONTINUED  'Thomas is a skillful pianist and a low-key foil for the exuberant Abt.  He provides the sanity on stage. She is the fantasy. Indeed, the play is aptly subtitled: "A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins."  Director Susan Grilli, of Counter Productions, has put together an audience- pleaser." Cape Cod Times

'...Thomas shows a good sense of comic timing as he provides the foil to his patron’s musical malapropisms.  But it is Mary Abt as Florence Foster Jenkins who owns the stage. A terrific singer in real life, Abt throws it all aside to open up, wail and hit painful notes all night.   Abt was delicious in her spirited but deliberately flawed performances, and when she stopped singing her acting was so nuanced, her persona carried such gravitas that she was at times breathtaking.
Special praise to costumer Ray Lajoie. Susan Grilli directs and gets impressive first-time dramatic performances from Thomas and Abt. This finishes out the first winter season for Counter Productions and leads to hopes for more from this new company." Provincetown Banner

ANNA IN THE TROPICS CONTINUED

'...whose ambitious Cheche, stepbrother to boss Santiago.  Another highlight is an argument, then reconciliation, between not-always-reliable Santiago (John G. Keller) and his fiery, domineering traditionalist wife, Ophelia (Glynis Bell). Both actors are excellent at portraying the nuances of a long-married couple. …philandering husband Palomo (a terrific acting debut by charter-boat fishing captain James Shannon) Provincetown Banner
